The Window - figurative oil painting
Just fooling around with a bit of a landscape and a girl in a black dress. I'll no doubt do more to it - things to do - but I've enjoyed painting this one. Have been straightening my studio - what a mess! When I get busy drawing or painting, I don't seem to notice the jumble of stuff, but when I'm through and take a look around, I'm pretty disgusted. So for the next few days, I will just combine cleaning with my drawing endeavors and maybe someday, I'll adopt a "clean as I go" approach. This painting is on 10 x 10" panel. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Waiting at the Bar - original oil pastel figurative painting
Here's another bar scene, although it's a little lighter than the bar was in real life - I think because I was using this beautiful grey Holbein oil pastel stick and just couldn't get enough of it. She sat and waited until her fellow showed up - must've been awkward, but she was loaded with poise. While I usually use Sennelier, this painting was done with Holbein oil pastels. They are so gorgeous, and with their square shape, very useful in turning on their sides for big strokes, or using the corners of the sticks for details. I'm a confirmed Sennelier user, with their lipsticky gooeyness, but it's great to try other brands on occasion. The painting is on 7 x 5" Pastelbord. Thanks for looking!

Allie's Naptime - original oil figurative painting
It's great for both the model and the artist when the model gets to take a nap. The model is completely relaxed and comfy and the artist has a model who holds the pose perfectly. Allie loved this pose and so did I! This painting is on 6 x 12" canvas. Thanks for stopping by!
