At first, I thought the model looked like a woman who wanted to be asked to dance - the tango, maybe. Then I let myself be led by the drawing process to where I am now. Not really sure where that is, but maybe she'll be a bit more assertive in the end - anyway, lots of work to do. I'm working on 16 x 12" Colourfix paper in umber. Thanks so much for looking!

I love her expression.. What is she thinking?
Hi Jeff - Thank you - I wonder what she's thinking, too! :)
I love your style so so much. I discovered you a while ago on pinterest and decided to study your work for A Level Fine Art. Now my exams are over I’m trying to get into oil pastel again but I’m more skilled with hyperealism so all of my drawings turn out too refined. Do you have any tips for nailing your style? A blog post with pictures of the drawings at different stages to show the process would be lovely!
Thanks so much for dropping by! I love oil pastel and my "style" owes much to my lack of sharpening my oil pastels and just letting edges overlap 'till I can get them sorted out a little - or some of them, anyway. Just have fun with this wonderful and forgiving medium. From time to time, I do show the progress of my work and will again, soon.
Thanks so much for the advice!
