I started this sketch with watercolor, but after about three strokes, I knew it wouldn't work out, (as most of my attempts with watercolor do). So, onward with my trusty oil pastels. The support is 9 x 12" 140 pound cold press watercolor paper which worked out well - it's really a lot like Sennelier oil pastel paper. Thanks for stopping by!

Made me think of the model, maybe the last pose of the day, letting her take a short nap. Like this painting a lot.
So many times I want to do an oil painting and I automatically take out my pastels,,,hmmmm ..what does that say? LOVE her pose and the colors in her blanket...nice work, Connie..

Thanks so much, Anthony - yes the last pose is the perfect time for the model to nap - actually, I'm pretty tired by then, too.
Thank you, Hilda - I appreciate your comment. I'm just SO much more comfortable with pastels/oil pastels - it's the "drawingness" of it, I think. No brush between me and the paper. My attempt at analysis, anyway.
