Dance Party - original charcoal figurative drawing

Happy 2013 everybody!!!  Hope this is your best year ever!  Right now I'm waiting for my plane to Italy, so if I don't post for awhile, you'll know I'm busy sightseeing and drinking in the art.  Have a great time tonight and the rest of 2013!  Oh and also, this drawing was done with vine charcoal on Strathmore drawing paper - it's about 14 x 16".  Thanks for stopping by!

Jivemania II - original oil figurative painting by Connie Chadwell

I probably could have made this piece more finished, but I am really a fan of a more "raw" state, so left it where I felt it still had life.  It's easy for me to kill a painting, plus it's much more fun this way.  So, I just shut the studio door and headed home.  The painting is 6 x 6" on Gessobord.  Thanks so much for visiting my blog and
THANK YOU, FOLLOWERS!  I appreciate your continuing interest in my artwork!!!!!!!!!!

Little Jivedoodles - charcoal drawings of figures

This is another, smaller version of the larger Jivedoodles that I posted some time ago. I am endlessly fascinated by the contortions of jive dancers, and I LOVE the energy they exhibit.

These are poses that are stuck in my mind from shows and dances that I attended - great memory drawing practice!

It's drawn on Strathmore drawing paper and is 11 x 14". Thanks for looking!SOLD

Jivemania - oil figure painting

This is a quick little gesture that I painted today. I mainly used blues and oranges, but I am never totally happy unless there's a little green somewhere, so there are a few dots of viridian. It's 6 x 6" on Gessobord. Thanks for looking!SOLD
