Straw Hat - original oil pastel portrait sketch

This was a really strange straw hat that the model was wearing - sort of flat all over.  I would love to go back to the days of wearing hats.  They're such a great finish to an outfit and are SO romantic - like all the women in hats at the recent royal wedding.
This sketch is on 12 x 9" Colourfix black paper.  Thanks for stopping by!

Fun! I don't know about hats. They are cute and sassy, but I fear they'd flatten our hair! Great painting, Connie!

I hadn't thought about that angle - oh well, a nice idea, but I have to agree with you!

Terrific piece! And you know I think we are soul mates! I love hats...and my first love and comfort zone is also B+W nudes!
Oh, and what about a flat hairdo to start with?

Thank you, Sharon - I'm very flattered and appreciate your nice comment! Yes, the flat hairdo would work perfectly, I think!

Hi Connie, thanks for your comment. I have 'followed' you for years.....such movement in your 'tangos', terrific light in your interiors.....I can't believe I've not commented before now!! And all in oil pastel, which is a medium I find very difficult to handle. Keep 'em coming, I look forward each day to see what you have done. Inspirational.
