Summer Fiction - original oil pastel figurative painting by Connie Chadwell

Hot sun, a chaise by the pool and a good book.  Great way to get through the blazing summer we're already having here in the Texas Hill Country.  This 5x7" oil pastel is painted on Pastelbord.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Really nice. Your figures are amazing. And how do you keep the pastels from melting by the pool??
I thought of you last night as I went to a Latin dance lesson. Fun to dance. I doubt I'd be quick enough to sketch it.

A good painting for the day. I think I'll find a book and do the same.

Great one...so content and absorbed.
Love the colors and hat!

Hi Dale - I'm so excited about your Latin dance lesson! And thanks so much for your nice comment - the oil pastels were extra easy to work with in all that heat, but not melty. Glad you stopped by!

Hi Anthony and thanks so much for stopping by. Hope you got that book and found someplace cool to read it - I'm finding that's the only way to survive this heat!

What a quiet painting. This is exactly what summer ought to be! This is wonderful.

Thank you, Elizabeth. This is one of my favorite summertime things to do.
