This is not typical of my work, but I took some painting courses several years ago in which we did this type of painting. "Coffeebreak" is a quick study done from life. Once in a while I just like to try something more "modern", I guess. On gessoed hardboard, this painting is 6x6".

LOVE this, the simplicity and the bold dashes of color. It doesn't take alot to make a painting work, just well placed color.
I like the use of primary colors in the bright red table and blue dress. That hair and position of her shoulders is memorable. Nice work Connie. Nina
